*Submissions are currently closed. If you have previously submitted, please expect to hear from us in the coming weeks.*
Guidelines:
Please submit works of flash fiction (<1000 words) via Submittable. Read a Duotrope interview with the editor here.
Update to guidelines: please only submit ONE story for consideration at a time, and wait until you receive a response before submitting further work.
Writing may be on any theme and in any style. Of course, subjectivity being what it is, preference may be given to pieces which are touching and lyrical without being pretentious, or work that is darkly (or even lightly) humorous.
Some favourite fiction writers include Edna O’Brien, Raymond Carver, Richard Yates, Vladimir Nabokov, JM Coetzee, Sylvia Plath, Alice Munro and the illustrious actor and novella-ist Steve Martin. If you dislike all of the above then it is unlikely our tastes are similar, but it’s always nice to be surprised isn’t it?
You don’t have to include a mini-bio – if a piece is accepted for publication a short biography will be requested (approx 50-100 words), but a ‘hello’ is nice. We accept simultaneous submissions, but please do let us know if your work is accepted elsewhere.
